July 2007

Greetings!

In June we talked about catching our breath and celebrating the achievements of the first half of the year. Now that we have relaxed a bit it is time for a reality check and to be poised for success in the balance of 2007.

What will it take to ensure that everyone is engaged and enthusiastic about executing your business strategies?

  1. Take stock. Where are you compared to where you thought you would be? What has made the difference?
  2. Realign. Factor in the changes you must make and create a new strategy (if required and it often is!)
  3. Leaders on Board. Is everyone interpreting the direction, plan and actions the same way?
  4. Communicate for engagement! Let everyone on the team know their responsibilities and required actions.
  5. Involve. Include your team in the planning, decision making and strategies as richly as possible.
  6. Break it down. Short term goals and manageable chunks offer more focus and commitment.
  7. Reward and recognize. Plan to celebrate the milestones along the way.

The bend in the road is not the end of the road
unless you refuse to take the turn.
