Greetings!
In June we talked about
catching our breath and celebrating the achievements of the first half
of the year. Now that we have relaxed a bit it is time for a reality
check and to be poised for success in the balance of 2007.
What will it take to
ensure that everyone is engaged and enthusiastic about executing your
business strategies?
- Take stock.
Where are you compared to where you thought you would be? What has
made the difference?
- Realign.
Factor in the changes you must make and create a new strategy (if
required and it often is!)
- Leaders on
Board. Is everyone interpreting the direction, plan and actions
the same way?
- Communicate for
engagement! Let everyone on the team know their responsibilities
and required actions.
- Involve.
Include your team in the planning, decision making and strategies as
richly as possible.
- Break it down.
Short term goals and manageable chunks offer more focus and
commitment.
- Reward and
recognize. Plan to celebrate the milestones along the way.
The
bend in the road is not the end of the road
unless you refuse to take the turn.
