RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONAL SURVEY™

Benefits to the Organization
The Rules of Engagement Organizational Survey™ provides you with two benefits. The first benefit is to view a snapshot of your organization’s culture from the dual perspectives of character and communication, which are intertwined and interdependent. This snapshot will help you understand how perspective employees and current staff view your organization from a values and ethics point of view.

Secondly, you will gauge morale, commitment and the level of trust in your organization. These issues impact levels of satisfaction and therefore organizational effectiveness.

Content
The behaviours that describe proper business behaviour and culminate in good character are labelled as follows:
  • Character Attributes
  • Values
  • Tenets
  • Interpersonal Competencies
  • Behavioural Dimensions

We have chosen the following 11 characteristics and described the supporting actions in concrete behavioural terms.

  1. Respect
  2. Responsibility
  3. Honesty
  4. Integrity
  5. Compassion
  6. Courage
  7. Inclusiveness
  8. Fairness
  9. Optimism
  10. Perseverance
  11. Initiative

We sincerely hope that no matter what term you use to describe healthy, productive behaviour, you will find this survey helpful in determining how your staff works together.

The Process:

  • Each person assesses the organization based on the 11 attributes as well general character and communication questions
  • Morale, clarity of vision, compensation, teamwork and trust are quantified
  • Straightforward, confidential, on-line process
  • Findings are debriefed as determined by the organization and the Administrator

LEADERSHIP BY ENGAGEMENT 360-DEGREE ASSESSMENT™

Testimonial

The Leadership by Engagement 360-Degree Assessment™ allows for candid, constructive feedback to help leaders decrease conflict and further improve communication and collaboration skills. The questions in the survey are derived from the five key strategies; Clarify the Culture, Know My Character, Respect Myself, Respect Others, Harness Conflict and Build Trust, found in the book Rules of Engagement for Communicating at Work. The strategies are rooted in the concept that authentic communication reflects character; the interplay of intent, emotional intelligence and concrete skill. The 360-degree approach provides a voice for your team to increase ownership and performance enhancements and develop a focused, concrete benchmark approach to performance improvement.

As a result of the assessment participants will be able to:

  • Create systems that collaboratively support alignment with organizational/departmental purpose, values, goals and objectives
  • Clarify their intent in any situation and the contribution expectations with every person on their team
  • Ensure their people have the training, tools and resources to do their jobs
  • Identify the connection between feelings, thoughts and actions in order to predict situations that are stressful for them and manage themselves in any circumstance
  • Establish workplace boundaries in order to maintain personal safety and be treated with dignity
  • Be assertive in their interactions with others and identify and resist manipulation
  • Take full responsibility for their decisions, circumstances and actions
  • Build on strengths; providing clear feedback on what they value in people, their contributions and confront issues with a problem solving approach
  • Demonstrate caring and compassion towards others and respond correctly when people are being poorly treated
  • Recognize the symptoms, identify the causes and develop strategies for dealing with conflict and move forward once the situation has been confronted
The Process:
Each person is assessed by the following groups:
  • Their Leader
  • Direct Reports
  • Peers
  • Other (may be a client category or volunteers)
  • As well as themselves

The 80 question survey is completed “on line”, and a report is generated.
Kathleen debriefs the reports in a Group Session or One to One.
